Paper Circuits - Light up a paper creation! Using copper tape and a LED light you will be able to illuminate your original paper card, origami creation, or building structure!
Self Propelling Boat - Explore the science of how to set a boat imotion! Use recyclable materials and design thinking to build wind-up propeller boats and explore concepts of energy conversion and motion.
Scratch Coding - Make your name spin, your avatar dance and your scenes sizzle. Learn to create interactive projects with Scratch coding! Use block coding to create and animate stories, make your original “sprite” sing and dance, or bring an original photo to life! No prior experience needed.
Ozobots - Learn to program while using a little toy robot called an Ozobot! Using different colored markers, you will create coded playgrounds for the Ozobot to follow. Watch the Ozobot go from turtle speed, to moonwalking to tornado spinning, using your color codes!
Spheros - Imagine if you could control a little robot using your facial expressions. Come meet Sphero and learn to code!! Learn to program Sphero through a maze by rolling at different speeds and changing colors!
Makey Makey - Invent sensors just like scientists do using food, conductive materials and everyday household objects. Play the piano using bananas! Control your favorite scratch game using a keyboard you made.Learn to use circuits in an innovative, creative way!
Squishy Circuits - Kids will learn the basics of building circuits, but they will do it in an unexpected medium: PLAYDOUGH! These sculptures will be able to conduct it's very own electricity!
Chihuly Plastic Art - Create your own Chihuly inspired art project! Using recycled plastic and ink, make creations that mimic the beautiful art of the world renowned artist Dale Chihuly.
Tape Creations - Tubes, Spirals, Cones, Twists, Boxes, Towers….oh my! Use everyday masking and painters tape to learn artistic techniques and combine them to create unique sculptures you can take home.
Jewelry Making - Learn to use the Cricut Maker machine to design and cut leather earrings. You will learn to use various tools to add hooks and wires to make a functioning pair of earrings. We will also be learning to bead bracelets!
Cardboard Creations - If you build it...they will play. Create your very own pinball machine in Cardboard Arcade. Participants will learn how to use Makedo safe tools and the design process to create.
Fused Plastics - Design and create your own beach bag, purse, apron, skirt, baby bib, or pretty much anything you decide to create! You will learn the science of working with heated plastic to design and create original pieces to take home and enjoy!
Nano Stamp - Have you ever wondered how a computer chip is designed and built? How can a chip so small allow computers to do such amazing things? Learn how the technique of stamping is used in designing and engineering NANOtechnology!
Strawbees - Who will build the tallest structure? Create amazing models, develop imagination and construction skills and collaborate on building/engineering challenges all with using straws! Fun and engaging for all ages!
