About Jeston George
Jeston George is the CEO and founder of Little Rock-founded and -based education technology startup, Apptegy. Jeston was born in Kerala, India. His parents moved the family to Little Rock for better opportunities when Jeston was three. He and his wife Jill have twin baby daughters Priya and Divya.
Jeston started and successfully exited two companies before starting Apptegy. In 2013 he began to work on an idea of bringing private sector-quality tools to school leaders, the beginnings of what would later become Apptegy. Jeston had the idea for Apptegy when he was trying to keep up with his nephew Aiden’s school events. He learned that his nephew’s school didn’t have an app, and he knew there had to be a better way to involve students’ families and communities.
In summer of 2015, Jeston raised funds from Arkansas startup investors and hired his first employee in Little Rock. Since then, Apptegy has raised a Series A investment round from Five Elms Capital, a major capital firm out of Kansas City. Apptegy has grown to over 80 full time employees in Little Rock and works with over 700 school districts in 46 states.
Apptegy helps school leaders compete in an era of increased competition amid changing school choice policy. Schools are going through a radical shift in how they operate, with marketing becoming a core competency of every school district. Apptegy brings amazing tools to the K12 education market to help school leaders navigate a new world of competition for students and funding. In addition to solving this problem, Jeston’s goal is to build Apptegy in a way that benefit its clients, shareholders, employees, and the community.
