This month we will hear from Round Mountain Coffee partners, Kyle and Scott.
Kyle and Scott have been working in the coffee industry for over 11 years, and they have known each other since high school days. After time away from pursuing collegiate careers and the rest of life, Kyle and Scott reconnected at a local coffee shop. Both of them had dreamed of being entrepreneurs, and particularly about opening a coffee shop one day.
Scott started his coffee journey at Starbucks in 2010, and in 2013 he made his way to the bustling city of Washington DC for 5 months. There he worked at 5 different Starbucks stores and was quickly losing his passion for his craft. In the last 3 months of living in DC, Scott got a job at a local coffee shop called Pound The Hill, and this reignited his passion and gave him the drive to create his own shop.
Kyle got his degree in Health Sciences with the intent of pursuing a career in physical therapy. After deciding ultimately to not pursue that career, he went back to working in coffee, which had become a love for him. He had always had the desire to become an entrepreneur, so owning a coffee shop was a natural marriage of the two passions.
In 2016, Kyle and Scott were granted the opportunity to open Round Mountain Coffee with the help of Scott’s father Steve Forbush, who helped gather funds and helped put together the business plan for RMC. Steve, Kyle, and Scott picked out the best location available in west Conway for RMC and together they created the culture and craft of Round Mountain Coffee, which focuses on locally sourced ingredients, coffee that is roasted in-house, and partnering with local nonprofits for the betterment of our community. Round Mountain Coffee opened their doors on October 24th, 2016 and have been supporting coffee habits since, with the drive to pursue coffee with excellence, love our craft, and love our community.
