Our featured guest this month is Earnest Sweat.

Earnest Sweat is the Venture Investment Manager at a large real estate company's venture capital team. His 10-year career consists of a blend of real estate and technology-focused roles. He began his career at BMO Capital Markets as an equity research analyst covering REITs. Prior to joining the corporate VC group in 2017, Earnest served as the investor-in-residence at Backstage Capital where he focused on the technical and business model due diligence of investment opportunities. Earnest is also a former startup founder and tech blogger that is passionate about serving as a startup advisor for high potential startup entrepreneurs. He has also worked diligently with accelerators such as Camelback Ventures and GSVLabs, assisting tech startups with fundraising and product-market fit. Mr. Sweat received his Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University. He also earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
